Children are important to God for in them he has ordained praise to silence the devil. Psalms 8:2. Jesus commands us to evangelize to them; he gave children time in his busy schedule to gather them. Don’t despise or look down upon them. Children’s ministry is part of the body of Christ, and a balanced church is one with the Children’s Ministry.

To raise a God-fearing generation, from birth to adulthood.

To influence children for Christ and change their lives for God.

  1. To change lives 1 Corinthians 2:14. They must be born again early in life so that they can serve God for a greater better part of their life.
  2. To minister to them and meet all their spiritual needs.
  3. To train them up; not educate them up or beat them up.

God’s View Of Children And How We Respond

N.B. Ministry to children is not only the job of the children’s church teachers/ leaders but is to supplement that of the parents Deuteronomy 4:9; 6:4-7.

Deuteronomy 4  vs 9

9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
Deuteronomy 6 vs 4 - 7

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
